Awe-Inspiring NFL Athletes: Highlighting Those Who Make Us Want To Do Better

Growing up many children look up to atheletes, hoping to one day be like them. Being a good role model if you are a professional

athlete is important because all kinds of people are looking up to you. Some players go above and beyond to set a good example and leave a lasting legacy on the people who grew up watching them.
Peyton Manning
Former Quarterback for the Denver Broncos, Peyton Manning, has been deemed the NFL's best good guy. After a long and successful career, he continues to give back to underprivileged kids and help make a difference. Mannings charity is the Peyback Foundation were he assists children through providing leadership opportunties in multiple states in the southern United States. He is very involved in this foundation where he is the President and is a part of all the foundations decisions. Peyton Manning is a great example for children to look up to as a player who is good on and off the field.
Jason Witten
Another man off the field who is an example to the youth is Jason Witten. He once recieved the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his constant involvement in charities. Witten played for the Dallas Cowboys as a tight end. He made the Score Foundation, which helps people who have been victims of domestic violence. In Texas and Tennesse, Witten helps those affected. He is also known for being a part of the NFL's PLay 60 Campaign encouraging children to be active and have physical exercise throughout the day. Witten is an awesome example of someone people should try to be like. Witten's talent on the field and his good deeds off the field are something to note.
Drew Brees
With a successful career with the New Orleans not free of adversities, Quarterback Drew Brees has earned the title of people a very likable player in the NFL. Through the Drew Brees Dream Foundation, he helps people who are going through cancer battles. Brees has raised more than $17 million dollars through his foundation for sick patients. When New Orleans was hit by Hurricane Katrina, Brees sprung into action to help those affected. Brees has shown that the underdog story can be an inspiring success. Children beyond Louisiana will look up to Drew Brees for a long time.
Tony Gonzalez
Former Kansas City Chiefs players Tony Gonzalez has been known as a hero on and off the field due to his foundation, talent and when he saved a man in a resturant from choking. Gonzalez formed the Shadow Buddies Foundation, which is a charity to provide personalized dolls to children who are sick. Gonzalez is also a Pro Football Hall of Famer, who was recognized for his great talents on the field. Using his talents for good, he put smiles on the faces of children through his playing and his foundations.
Looking up to some of these players is rewarding in more ways than one. Not only are they some of the best NFL players of all time, but they are also great people who use their successes to give back to the communities. /KS
