The university of Oklahoma State and the university of Oklahoma have had a huge rivalry since 1904. Being the daughter to my father I have always been raised to watch the university of Oklahoma every Saturday for as long as I can remember. The decision on which college I would go to was already made for me the day I was born. My senior year of college I was struggling not knowing if I wanted to go to the University of Oklahoma because I felt so much pressure to be what my dad wanted me to be, which is a Boomer Sooner. March of my senior year of college, I visited Oklahoma State University and I automatically knew this is where I was supposed to be. The atmosphere, the people, the campus, the amazing school program, I just knew this is somewhere I can grow into the person I wanted to be. I broke the news to my father and although I could tell he was a little upset. I knew that he would be supportive and loving wherever I ended up. I am now in my senior year of college, and I have never been happier with the decision I made to come to Oklahoma State and I know my father feels the same way.

So, the questions still stand how to sports fan chose their favorite teams? Sports fans have many different approaches to choosing their favorite teams the first one being the team was handed down through family origins. After some research, this is the main way sports fans develop and love their sports teams. Sometimes sports fans find their favorite teams at different stages of their lives. For me, I loved the University of Oklahoma almost my whole life until my senior year of college and I chose Oklahoma State University. The last way sports fans find their favorite team is if a certain team has an incredible year with amazing stats and sports fans want to follow them for the next couple of years.

Sports fans have their own stereotype that they are the know it all, crazy, anger issues, or obsessive over stats. Now that may be true with some sport fans, I think anyone can be a sports fan that just watches their favorite teams just for the enjoyment and support of a team that they have a connection to.
